More +Departure from your hotel at 8:30 am. The shuttle ride, about one hour, will take you on the AM070 road; cross the Rio Negro bridge; past several agricultural properties (the fazendas) and several brick manufacturing companies, which is the main activity of the city of 'Iranduba (located 25 km from Manaus). You will then embark on a motorboat for a ride of approximately 45 minutes (or 1 hour 30 minutes during the low water period).This exciting journey through the flooded forest, canals and lakes will lead you to the stilted houses ''ribeirinhos''. Upon arrival at the Lodge, you will be served a refreshing welcome drink before being directed to your room to settle in. Lunch will consist of delicious Amazonian specialties. After a moment of relaxation, you will embark, around 4:00 pm, on a pirogue and row through the "igapós" and flooded forest, where you will meet wild animals such as sloths and various species of birds and monkeys. Return to the Lodge around 5:30 p.m. for some free time before dinner service begins at 7:00 p.m. Just after a tasty meal, you will embark on the motorboat for a night ride. You will have the opportunity to see caimans and other nocturnal animals. Return to the Lodge and overnight in your room.
Breakfast, consisting of fresh fruit and regional culinary specialties, is served at 7:30 am. Then you will embark at 9:00 am on a canoe to join a discovery trail. You will get to know part of the rich ecosystem of the Amazon rainforest, including different species of plants and trees, some with medicinal properties and others used in the manufacture of cosmetic products. Return to the Lodge around 11:30 am for lunch. The motorboat will depart at 4:00 p.m. to take you on a recreational fishery where you will have the opportunity to approach the famous piranhas. Return to the Lodge at dusk for dinner, which begins at 7:00 p.m. Following the meal, you will spend the evening relaxing with a game of cards or a board game.
Wake up at 5:30 a.m. with the song of the birds for an adventure that will be engraved in your memory for a long time. You will see the sunrise over the Rio Negro and see the morning ballet of the birds, as well as other animals. Return to the Lodge for a traditional regional breakfast. At 9:30 am, you will embark on a pirogue to visit a "Casa de Farinha." In this unusual location, you will learn how the "caboclos" prepare cassava flour, a common food on Amazonian tables. Finally, you'll get to try the famous tapioca with Brazil nuts. In the afternoon, you'll embark another canoe to visit the community of "Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro," also known as Vila de Acajatuba. This small community of 54 families is currently spread across an island in the middle of Lake Acajatuba. You will meet Dona Marlene and her family, the community's first inhabitants. You will go to the craft center, which is supported by NGO's to help locals develop and market their handicrafts. The excursion will conclude with a visit to the health post and a school that offers internet-based lessons to children. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Following a delicious breakfast, you will depart by pirogue to discover the most exciting activity of the Lodge. You will have an exciting encounter with pink dolphins, the famous "botos vermelhos", or "botos cor de rosa". You will have the opportunity to enter the water and get up close and personal with this docile animal. It will be an excellent opportunity to film and photograph this fantastic meeting. After this activity, you will return to the Lodge for lunch. At 2 p.m., return to Manaus.
