For over 20 years we have accompanied our guests in the northern region of the Pantanal. Our hostel is located about 28 km south of the gateway to the Pantanal. It is located directly on the famous Transpantaneira dirt road, which leads from Poconé to Porto Jofre.
Just after passing the Transpantaneira portal shortly after Poconé, you will feel the live change of the incredibly rich fauna and flora. You think you’re in the middle of a huge zoo, only there are no walls and almost no security fences, just bushes and trees and the wide horizon limits your view to infinity. In the pools of water there are alligators, a Capybara family walks through the Transpantaneira and an anaconda lurks among the bushes. The many water lilies and water lilies among which the large Tuiuiús search for fish are a familiar sight here. Termites, up to 2 meters high, which even seem to have been made by human hands.
Our 12 packages include tours throughout the region. Not only in the Pantanal, but also include Chapada dos Guimarães and Nobres for floating. These trips can also be combined.
The Inn
In the morning, when it’s not dawn, you’ll wake up to the serenade of the Pantanal birds. Before breakfast, it’s worth taking a sunbath, feeling the sun’s rays reflecting on your skin. You will have supplied a lot of energy for the whole day.
Breakfast will be served as a buffet. Pantaneiros do not have breakfast so early, when they get up they only have a coffee. Only around 08:30 hours do they return from the fieldwork and here comes the crooked break. This means a hot meal with rice, beans etc… In Europe, farms used to be like that too.
After each tour you will have time for a bath in our small pool, or take a nap in one of our hammocks.
Our 18 apartments are comfortable: have air conditioning, fan, mosquito net, towels and private bathroom. Our chalets offer a private balcony and the same comfort as the apartments. The difference is the beautiful view they provide to our small lagoon.
Lunch and dinner are also served in Buffet form. Ana, our cook and her collaborators, will pamper you by preparing several typical dishes from the region. Drinks will be noted when you order them and the bill you pay on checkout.
The hostel is equipped with WiFi.
Even in our 17 meter tower you can go unaccompanied. You have the chance to meet different types of monkeys, agouti and sometimes the tapir. But you have to tell your guide that you are leaving and you cannot leave the trail. The way back is the same as you went, without exception. (you can get lost)
At night, when the sky is clear and you look up, you will see that we are hosting with million stars.
