The best of the hotel! Two newly revitalized mansions combine contemporary comfort and imperial elegance. Superb and in harmony with the monuments of the city of Petrópolis, they are the living history of Brazil.

Formed by two 19th Century houses and located in a prestigious area of Petrópolis, Hotel Solar do Império offers indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and wellness center and a steam sauna. Wi-Fi and parking are free.

Equipped with split air conditioning, all rooms at Hotel Solar do Império contain an LCD TV, a DVD player and a mini-bar. They offer classic modern furnishings and provide wooden or carpeted floors.

The main house dates from 1875 and the side from 1893. The buildings were already over 100 years old – and had already been listed by Iphan – when they received the first restorative care, in 2005. This was a meticulous work to recover the historical and fundamental heritage. in preparing mansions for the new vocation they would have as a hotel.

The facilities started to provide comfort to customers, keeping the classic references. The palaces gained an air of modernity without detracting from the original style.

In 2019, Solar do Império was revitalized. This time, in addition to updating the mansions to current needs, the hotel has intensely incorporated the concept of environmental sustainability.

The garden pond received a special biological filtration system and low energy consumption equipment. The capture of rainwater for reuse, which has already been carried out, was improved. Leopoldina Restaurant will continue to be supplied with organic products from the Serra de Itaipava, directly from the garden of Pousada Tankamana. Plastic bags in the rooms have given way to paper bags. Solar panels and LED lights were installed, which are more durable and cost-effective and will lighten the environments.

Take your time. Breakfast can be served anytime and anywhere. Our favorite setting is the koi pond surrounded by a beautiful garden. For even more relaxation, Solar do Império offers a spa with an outdoor pool, heated indoor pool, dry and steam saunas, fitness equipment and massage rooms.
